I always wanted to have my Degree before I'm turning 30, and it always be among my top wishlist in my life journey. When I got married back in 2014, and moved to USJ and working at Glenmarie, I always look for an opportunity to continue my study in UITM Shah Alam, just like Pija who now already finish her PLK degree. But unfortunately, Pija's batch was the last batch of PLK and after that, the course never have enough 15 students - basic requirement for the course to be included in PLK. * sigh * . Im not sure about that a year whther PLK for Quantity Surveying is available in UITM Shah Alam or not because after that, continue my study is not in my list anymore.

At that point of time, both me and my husband , we were struggled with life and financial stability, time and etc, and continue my study at that point of time is not an option, and it just never came to my mind anymore. Until July this year, suddenly an idea about continue my study cross my mind again, when im in the middle of looking for a new job. I always wanted to work in a coroporate industry, environment, meeting new people within that circle,learning and gaining as much as I can about Construction industry. But as always, who will notice and have belief for a worker who have Diploma in Polytechnic ONLY? Major of big company always underestimate students from Polytechnic, and sometimes we never get through the interview just by looking at the resume. Corporate world - tough huh? (T__________T)
But then I realized and started to think where do I see myself in next 5 years? Still working with small sub con company, with only 8days AL, not-in-time salary payment, being push by Main Con? It is a wonderfull journey of learning though, but can I be secure for the next 5 years? What will happen to Malaysia's economy in the next 5 years? Do I have to migrate to other country to get a better job and better salary? Can Diploma in QS from local Polytechnic brings me to the next level in my career path?
And that is when I decided - I have to have Degree at least for my future. At least for me. For a better future. And then I apply for UTM Space. Why UTMSpace? Because it is convenient for me in term of location and the fees structure is still within my affordability compare to other college. Last Thursday is the result and yeah, Alhamdulillah.
Better late than never. And yes, Im continue my study in Construction Science. Why? Because I know that I dont want to be a QS. Yes to Project Manager, maybe one day InsyaAllah.
I know to have a degree before Im turning 30 will be slightly off-schedule, (haha) , but who knows? It will be a long and bumpy ride along the journey, and my life as a wife, daughter, employee, and maybe a mother will never be the same, and it will never be an easy decision to make but I believe whatever happen, there are always have reasons for it.
